The previous strategy was designed until 2020

MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. The work on the new National Security Strategy of Russia will continue in the first half of this year in order to balance it with socioeconomic development plans of the country, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Sergei Vakhrukov told TASS on Thursday.

The previous strategy was designed until 2020. "[The new version] will be ready in the first half of this year," the official said. The first strategy draft is actually ready but discussions on the paper will continue, in particularly in order to synchronize it with the new Russian Socioeconomic Development Strategy prepared by the government, Vakhrukov said.

"Two basic strategies must be interrelated," he said.

The paper under preparation comprises in particular "current strategic national projects directly applying to socioeconomic development of the country: economic growth, quality of life, healthcare, science and education, ecology and culture," the official added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will decide on the format for the final strategy review, Vakhrukov added.
