Belarus has chance to double its cheese exports to Russia

The Belarusian minister confirmed that his country was ready to considerably increase exports of dairy products to Russia

MINSK, August 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Belarus has an opportunity to double its cheese exports to Russia, head of Russia’s veterinary and phytosanitary watchdog (Rosselkhoznadzor) Sergei Fankvert said on Tuesday at a meeting with Belarusian Minister of Agriculture and Food Leonid Zayats.

“Belarus has a perfect chance to export 200,000 tonnes of cheese instead of the current 100,000 tonnes,” the press service of the Belarusian ministry of agriculture and food quoted him as saying.

The Belarusian minister confirmed that his country was ready to considerably increase exports of dairy products to Russia. “Thus, from August we are going to use our cheese-making facilities to their maximum capacity to expand exports,” Zayats said.
