Kirill Dmitriyev's visit could mark the first time since 2022 that a high-ranking Russian official would travel to the US capital for talks

NEW YORK, April 2. /TASS/. Head of Russia's Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriyev, may visit Washington this week to meet with US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, CNN reported, citing sources.

Dmitriyev's visit could mark the first time since 2022 that a high-ranking Russian official would travel to the US capital for talks. According to the report, the meeting aims to strengthen relations between Russia and the United States and explore ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

In late March, Dmitriyev mentioned in an interview with Izvestiya that Russia and the United States had begun discussions on rare-earth metals projects.
