Russia, Thailand agree to boost relations through cultural cooperation — foreign ministry

The sides expressed their willingness to further work together on the proposed initiatives like performances of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra to be held in Moscow and St. Petersburg in April 2025

BANGKOK, March 25. /TASS/. Russia and Thailand agreed to strengthen bilateral ties through cultural cooperation, the Thai Foreign Ministry said following a meeting of Russian Special Presidential Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy and Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand Lalivan Kanchanachari.

"The parties discussed potential areas of Russia-Thailand cultural cooperation that encompass both traditional and modern cultural practices and include fields such as literature, music, theater, cinema, as well as media exchange in various areas. In addition, opportunities for cooperation in the education sphere were explored. The sides expressed their willingness to further work together on the proposed initiatives like performances of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra to be held in Moscow and St. Petersburg in April 2025 and continue interaction in other culture-related areas to further strengthen bilateral ties," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
