WASHINGTON, March 19. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump, in his letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, gave Tehran two months to conclude a new agreement on Iran's nuclear program, Axios reported citing sources.
According to the website, it is still unclear whether the deadline starts counting from the moment the Iranian authorities received the letter in early March or from the moment when negotiations on the nuclear deal may begin.
On March 7, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that he had written to Khamenei in an attempt to revive talks over Tehran’s nuclear program. Commenting on this statement from the US president, the Iranian supreme leader said that the Islamic republic will not engage with the United States as Washington is looking to impose demands on it. On March 12, Khamenei called Trump’s letter an "attempt to deceive global public opinion.".
