CAIRO, March 18. /TASS/. The de facto prime minister of the government in the Gaza Strip, controlled by the radical Hamas movement, Essam al-Daalis, was killed in one of the air strikes carried out last night by the Israeli Air Force on the blockaded enclave, Al Arabiya TV channel reported.
According to its sources, "the prime minister of the Hamas government, al-Daalis, was killed in the recent attack by the Israeli Air Force" as a shell struck the house where al-Daalis was at that moment.
Also, according to the TV channel, Mahmoud Abu Watfa, deputy head of the Interior Ministry in the Hamas government in Gaza, was killed during the Israeli bombing.
There have been no official comments from the radical movement yet.
On March 18, the IDF conducted large-scale strikes against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while US Axios journalist Barak Ravid posted on the social network X, citing the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that Israel had resumed military operations against Hamas in the enclave.
According to the latest Al Arabiya TV channel report, the death toll has reached 356, while 1,000 people were injured. About half of the dead were victims of an airstrike on the administrative center of the Gaza Strip, Gaza City, the TV channel reported.
