Trump’s letter to Khamenei similar to his public rhetoric — Iranian diplomat

According to Esmaeil Baghaei, Tehran will respond to this letter after holding the necessary consultations and discussions

DUBAI, March 17. /TASS/. Key excerpts of a letter that US President Donald Trump has written to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are not significantly different from the US leader’s public rhetoric, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said.

"For the time being, we have no reasons to make Trump’s letter public," the Iranian diplomat said as he dismissed media reports about this letter as false information. "Taking into account Trump’s public statements, the contents of this letter are similar to those," he told a news conference broadcast live by SNN television.

According to Baghaei, Tehran will respond to this letter after holding the necessary consultations and discussions.

On March 7, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that he had written to Khamenei in an attempt to revive talks over Tehran’s nuclear program. Commenting on this statement from the US president, the Iranian supreme leader said that the Islamic republic will not engage with the United States as Washington is looking to impose demands on it. On March 12, Khamenei called Trump’s letter an "attempt to deceive global public opinion."
