MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. If the Kiev government decides to return to the negotiating table three years later, it should keep in mind that the situation on the ground has changed, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.
At a joint news conference after talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Lukashenko recalled Putin’s words that Russia is ready to negotiate with Ukraine, but "wants all Ukrainians to realize that we are returning to the negotiating table three years after the talks were started," and, therefore, the current situation on the ground needs to be taken into account.
"This is a wise and correct position," Lukashenko said. "Time has passed, conditions are different and the situation on the ground has changed. You are welcome [to negotiate]. But, as Vladimir Vladimirovich has said: we’ve learned a lot over this period, and we will draw corresponding conclusions."
