BEIRUT, February 23. /TASS/. Hezbollah will continue supporting the Palestinian people and will not let US President Donald Trump implement his project for the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem said at the funeral of Hezbollah late leader Hassan Nasrallah.
"We will not let the United States boss about in the Middle East in Israel’s interests and pledge that along with other national liberation forces we will resist Trump’s project for resettling Palestinians from the Gaza Strip," he said.
According to Qassem, Hezbollah will use its legitimate right and continue resisting Israel, despite the losses and destruction. He stressed that Shiite units "have implemented their commitments under the ceasefire agreement, unlike Israel, which has been violating the ceasefire."
"We are committed to our goal of driving the invaders from the Lebanese soil," he said. "As Lebanon’s sons, we stand with our army and want civil peace and national unity." He reiterated Hezbollah’s intention to help restore what has been destroyed by Israel’s aggression.
Four Israeli Air Force fighter jets appeared in the sky over Beirut during the beginning of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's funeral.
According to a TASS correspondent, the planes flew at a very low altitude over the southern parts of the Lebanese capital, simulating an attack on the city. This occurred when the coffins with the bodies of Nasrallah as his closest associate, former head of Hezbollah Executive Council Hisham Safieddine, were moved to the stadium where the ceremony is taking place.
