Top Iranian diplomat urges to 'prepare for war'

"We have announced that the recent Israeli operation against Iran is nothing but another aggression," Abbas Araghchi pointed out

DUBAI, November 19. /TASS/. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi urged at a meeting with the command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite unit of Iran's armed forces) to prepare for the possible start of a major armed conflict to demonstrate its power.

"Preparing for war prevents it. If you want to prevent it, you should show your power and declare your readiness for war and defense. This will prevent war. If you show the slightest weakness and demonstrate that you are not ready for a confrontation, this war will be forced upon you," the press service of the top diplomat quoted him as saying.

"We have announced that the recent Israeli operation against Iran is nothing but another aggression. Operations True Promise 1 and True Promise 2 were defensive in nature. The latest aggression by the Israeli regime demands a response. We have not given up our right to retaliate. We will choose the time for it and respond as we see fit," Abbas Araghchi pointed out.

Iran’s October 1 missile attack on Israel was codenamed True Promise 2 in analogy to Operation True Promise 1, the Iranian attack on Israel in April 2024 in response to the Israeli shelling of the country’s embassy in Damascus.
