PARIS, March 1. /TASS/. All Ukrainian allies sent their intelligence officers to this country, where they help in testing new weapons, among other things, Le Monde reported, citing a Ukrainian diplomatic source.
"All allied states are present in Ukraine. These are not combat units, but representatives of all intelligence agencies, for example, are present there," the source said.
He stated his satisfaction that the reinforcement of the allied military presence has been "in the air" since December.
"If there are arms shipments, there must also be people who give information on how to use this equipment on the ground," he added. "Ukraine is also being used as a proving ground for new vehicles. Drones are being tested there. Such specialists, of course, are on their posts."
After a conference on Ukraine in the Paris on February 26, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the participants had looked at sending ground troops to Ukraine. Although no consensus was reached on this topic, he left the door open for such a scenario in the future. After the conference, most of the participating counties pledged that they have no plans to send troops to Ukraine to fight against Russia. French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne said on the following day that the presence of Western troops in Ukraine could be needed to offer certain types of assistance, for instance, in mine clearance operations and training of Ukrainian soldiers, but such presence would not envisage their participation in the conflict.
