Yemen's PM extends greetings to Putin from country's Presidential Leadership Council

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Yemeni Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak has conveyed greetings from Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Let me convey the best wishes and greetings of the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, and its members to Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin," he said during talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak was appointed head of the Yemeni government on February 5, retaining the post of foreign minister, which he has held since late 2020. This is his first foreign visit as prime minister.

Earlier, the Yemeni Embassy in Moscow told TASS that Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak was also planning to hold talks with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko in Moscow apart from meeting with Lavrov.
