Hungary against European Peace Fund money being used for Ukraine

"Over the course of negotiations in recent weeks, we have made it clear that we are not prepared to go for any joint actions aimed at arms supplies to Ukraine," Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said

BUDAPEST, February 19. /TASS/. Hungary does not object to allocating five billion euros (some $5.4 billion) to the European Peace Fund as long as the country’s share in the organization is not used to send weapons to Ukraine, Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Monday.

"Over the course of negotiations in recent weeks, we have made it clear that we are not prepared to go for any joint actions aimed at arms supplies [to Ukraine]," he said. "It’s the only condition for us not to block the EU’s decision" to funnel five billion euros to Ukraine in aid.

Last week Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that his country would not let anyone drag it into the military conflict in Ukraine.
