Spain provides Ukraine with €133 mln worth of weapons in 18 months — media

According to the report, Madrid sent grenade launchers, howitzers, machine guns, mortars and other items to Kiev in 2022 and the first half of 2023

MADRID, January 16. /TASS/. Spain exported €133 mln worth of weapons and defense equipment to Ukraine from the beginning of 2022 to June 2023, the ABC newspaper writes, citing defense reports from the state trade secretariat.

In just 18 months, the Spanish authorities approved the export of €515 mln worth of weapons to Kiev, but not all the deliveries were made immediately. According to the newspaper, Ukraine did not even appear in the 2021 statistics. Madrid sent grenade launchers, howitzers, machine guns, mortars and other items to Kiev in 2022 and the first half of 2023.

According to the paper, Spanish arms exports increased by 24% in 2022 compared to 2021, exceeding €4 bln. EU and NATO member states accounted for 60% of the supplies.
