Hamas calls on world community to thwart Israel's plans to displace Palestinians

Hamas warned against any agreement with Israeli authorities concerning the relocation scheme, which the movement is convinced is "cloaked in slogans of protection, humanitarian aid and security zones"

CAIRO, December 6. /TASS/. The Palestinian Hamas movement has issued an appeal to the world community with a demand to intervene and stop the Israeli authorities' plans to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, according to a special statement published on the movement's Telegram channel.

"We [Hamas] reaffirm the united Palestinian position in opposing the plot to displace the Palestinian people, and reject any project to displace the residents of Gaza, whether to the Sinai Peninsula or anywhere else. Our people have only one homeland and only one land in which they live - Palestine," the statement reads.

Hamas warned against any agreement with Israeli authorities concerning the relocation scheme, which the movement is convinced is "cloaked in slogans of protection, humanitarian aid and security zones." "Whoever wants to help the Palestinian people should seek to stop this war, open the checkpoints on the border with the Strip, and not contribute to plans to displace Palestinians from their land," the movement added.

Hamas called on the world community to "intervene to stop the conspiracy of the Israeli occupation to displace the Palestinian people from their homeland." Hamas pointed out that in this regard it "highly appreciated Egypt's position, which categorically rejects such plans," and called on Cairo to "maintain it and confront [Israel's] aggression."
