TEL AVIV, December 2. /TASS/. Air raid sirens wailed in central regions of Israel for the first time on Saturday, warning residents of the country’s most densely populated areas about a potential rocket strike, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) press service said.

"Sirens sounded in central Israel," the IDF said in a brief post.

According to The Times of Israel, air raid alert was issued in a number of Tel Aviv city districts and some of its suburban areas. No damage or casualties have been reported at this point.

Saturday was the second consecutive day of air raid warnings in the central part of Israel. On Friday, according to IDF reports, civil defense warning went off twice in these areas for the first time since November 21.
