Palestinian authorities blame US for resumption of violence in Gaza Strip

"The US administration, which failed to coerce Israel into ending its attacks, shoulders responsibility for the resumption of aggression," Nabil Abu Rudeineh underlined

RABAT, December 1. /TASS/. The Palestinian authorities have put the blame for the resumption of Israel’s combat operations in the Gaza Strip on the United States, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, said on Friday.

"The resumption of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, marked by an escalation of the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces and settler terrorists in the West Bank, is an ongoing ethnic purge and genocide," the spokesman said, as quoted by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

"The US administration, which failed to coerce Israel into ending its attacks, shoulders responsibility for the resumption of aggression," he said.

Early on December 1, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) blamed Hamas for violating the truce and said that it was resuming combat in the Gaza Strip.
