Ukraine should start talks with Russia, US lawmaker says

NEW YORK, December 1. /TASS/. The situation on the battlefield shows that Ukraine should start thinking of talks with Russia to settle the conflict, US Senator Rand Paul said in an interview released on the Daniel Davis Deep Dive YouTube channel.

"We have to realize where we are in this. We now have the commander-in-chief of the armed services in Ukraine [Valery Zaluzhny] saying that it's a stalemate. We have people indicating that we're now to a point where we might start negotiations. That's essentially where we were about a year ago. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost and we're at basically back to the same point," the lawmaker said.

The Senator also noted that he does not "see a way" for Ukraine to get back Crimea.
