TBILISI, November 8. /TASS/. Georgia has many years of work ahead of it to achieve its final goal of becoming a full member of the European Union, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a briefing.
"Our ultimate goal is, of course, full integration into the EU, full EU membership, and this will take much more effort. It is a long process. It will not be completed in a year or two. It is a multi-year process that requires consolidation of our people, effective governance, power and continuation of the reforms that we have been implementing for the last 11 years," Garibashvili said.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said earlier on Wednesday that the organization favors granting the EU Council Georgia candidate status. The EC welcomed the reforms carried out in Georgia but said that the country still had some work to do.
