Venezuela supports Colombia’s proposal to hold conference on Ukraine — foreign minister

UNITED NATIONS, September 24. /TASS/. The government of Venezuela supports Colombian President Gustavo Petro’s initiative to hold international conferences on settling the conflict in Ukraine and the Palestinian conflict, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto said.

"We support the proposal of Colombian President Gustavo Petro to convene a world conference for peace in Ukraine and Palestine," he said. "We call for addressing these issues in a balanced and cautious manner, reducing tensions, and promoting confidence-building measures."

Earlier, the Colombian leader suggested holding two peace conferences, devoted to Ukraine and Palestine, under the UN aegis.
