Israel resumes strikes on Gaza Strip — IDF

TEL AVIV, May 13. /TASS/. Air raid sirens went off on Saturday night in the south of Israel, the IDF press service reported.

This happened after 10 p.m. Moscow time despite announcements that an agreement of a ceasefire after this time had been reached between Israel and Palestinian radicals with Egypt’s mediation. The Israeli army said it resumed delivering strikes on the Palestinian enclave in response to projectiles launched by the Islamic Jihad radical group.

Earlier, Egypt’s Extra News TV channel reported that Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip and Israel agreed on a ceasefire beginning at 10 p.m. local time (same time as Moscow’s) on Saturday.

The Israeli army launched its Operation Shield and Arrow in the early hours of May 9, carrying out strikes on weapons production sites and military facilities belonging to the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad. In response, Palestinian radicals fired rockets at Israel. According to the latest data from the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israel’s strikes on the Gaza Strip have killed more than 30 people and left 150 wounded.
