US, EU to seek Ukraine’s integration in European energy market

The parties also intend to work on diversifying energy sources for Europe

WASHINGTON, March 11. /TASS/. The United States and the European Union will seek to further integrate Ukraine into the energy market of Europe and will work to diversify energy sources for Europe, US President Joe Biden and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in a joint statement on Friday.

"We will continue to work together to advance energy security and sustainability in Europe by diversifying sources, lowering energy consumption, and reducing Europe’s dependence on fossil fuels," the statement says.

"We will also continue our close coordination to support Ukraine’s energy security through its further integration into Europe’s energy markets," it says.
