Mass detentions of protestors begin in Tbilisi, rally dispersed

The majority of detentions is taking place in the Rustaveli Avenue, where the parliament building is located

TBILISI, March 8. /TASS/. Mass detentions began in streets of Georgia’s capital Tbilisi after a protest against the law on foreign agents was dispersed on Tuesday night, according to live broadcast from the scene by the Mtavari Arxi television.

The majority of detentions is taking place in the Rustaveli Avenue, where the parliament building is located.

Earlier, the detention of Zurab Japaridze, a leader of the New Political Center — Girchi opposition party, was aired on Georgian TV.
