BEIJING, March 1. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Wednesday that his country’s vision of a multipolar world order was in line with that of China, as he voiced his support for the recent Chinese peace proposals.
"China has grown into a global power. It is impossible to sort out any issue on our planet without China. China favors a multipolar world order, and so do we," the Belarusian leader told Li Zhanshu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, as per the BelTA news agency.
According to Lukashenko, the initiative on peace for the planet, the inadmissibility of sanctions and the development of good-neighborly relations recently put forward by the Chinese leader "fully coincides with Belarus’ position." He said Belarus was ready to keep supporting China on issues that are important for the country.
Earlier today, Lukashenko held talks with Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang, and laid a wreath in the colors of the flag of Belarus at the monument to national heroes on Tiananmen Square in Beijing.
The Belarusian leader is on a three-day state visit to China which started on Tuesday.
