The meeting is scheduled to cover topics such as food and energy security, sustainable development cooperation, the fight against terrorism, new and emerging threats, and humanitarian and other disaster relief

NEW DELHI, March 1. /TASS/. The situation in Ukraine, food and energy security, and other global problems will be the focus of attention of the participants in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the G20 countries, which will be held on March 1-2 in the Indian capital. News agency Press Trust of India reported on Tuesday, New Delhi intends to do everything to enable the parties to issue an agreed joint statement following the event.

The meeting is scheduled to cover topics such as food and energy security, sustainable development cooperation, the fight against terrorism, new and emerging threats, and humanitarian and other disaster relief. Foreign ministers are also expected to consider methods to address the slowdown of economic growth, rising inflation, decreased demand for goods and services, and rising food, fuel, and fertilizer prices.

At the same time, the conflict in Ukraine is anticipated to cause the most disagreements among participants. Despite differences on the issue, India is pressing for the meeting to agree on a final statement, according to Press Trust of India sources.

Previously, at a conference of finance ministers and G20 Central Bank heads held on February 24-25 in Bengaluru, India, the parties were unable to reach an agreement on the final document. The statement was released on behalf of the chairman, and the text of the document showed that the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors did not agree on paragraphs, which dealt with the Ukrainian conflict.
