CHISINAU, February 16. /TASS/. The Moldovan parliament has approved the program and composition of the government of Dorin Recean, who was nominated to the post by President Maia Sandu after the unexpected resignation of Natalia Gavrilita.
"The parliament approved the candidacy of the prime minister and the program of the new government. Sixty-two deputies voted for [Dorin Receau]," Igor Grosu, the president of the Parliament, announced. The new cabinet was supported by the pro-European Party of Action and Solidarity. Leaders of the opposition Bloc of Communists and Socialists and the SOR party did not vote.
"The government program is based on the vision of the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu and the Party of Action and Solidarity with adjustments to the current reality. Today we are faced with problems such as high inflation, the war in Ukraine <...>, rising energy prices," Recean said in his speech to deputies. He also promised to improve efficiency and "bring order" in public institutions, simplify business access to financial resources and noted the need to fight corruption more effectively.
