BRUSSELS, February 7. /TASS/. The EU is actively supporting media outlets that are dubbed 'foreign agents' in Russia because, according to Brussels, they are ‘trying to say truths’, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Tuesday.

"We try to support them. We stand by the Russian independent media, for civil society, for human rights defenders, who, despite the continuous crackdown that they are suffering, continue to defend human rights and oppose authoritarism and war," Borrel said, speaking at the public conference ‘Beyond Disinformation: EU Responses to the Threat of Foreign Information Manipulation’.

"And what I’m saying is not just rhetoric. I cannot go into detail, but believe me, we support them in practical terms. But I’m not going to tell you how, because it will do them a bad favor," Borrel added.
