Some 4.5 million people affected by Thursday’s blackouts in Ukraine

In particular, according to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, emergency and rolling power outages affected the residents of Kyiv and 10 regions

KIEC, November 4. /TASS/. Blackouts in Ukraine affected around 4.5 million of the country’s residents on Thursday, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in a video address posted on his Telegram channel.

"Just on this evening alone, around 4.5 million consumers have been temporarily disconnected from the grid for emergency and stabilization reasons, including in [the capital] Kiev and in ten other regions," he said.

Every day, Ukrainian consumers face power cuts lasting a few hours. Citizens are also requested to save electricity during peak hours. According to the national company Ukrenergo, power cuts will take place in 11 administrative regions of the country on Friday, November 4.
