TOKYO, October 8. /TASS/. North Korea has purportedly launched a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan in the early hours of Sunday (local time), Japan Coast Guard reported.
According to the Coast Guard, the missile has already fallen, but the exact whereabouts of its impact are not given. The Coast Guard called on the ships in the area to contact the authorities immediately after spotting any missile debris, but to avoid approaching it.
The NHK television channel said citing government sources that the missile fell beyond Japan’s exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan.
The office of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has established a crisis headquarters to collect and analyze information related to this missile launch by North Korea. The Japanese Defense Ministry is also gathering relevant information.
There were no immediate reports about damage to Japan following the North Korean missile launch.
South Korea’s military also reported about another missile launch by North Korea, which is 25th in 2022.
