VILNIUS, May 16. /TASS/. Latvia has closed its diplomatic missions in St. Petersburg and Pskov, Latvian Ambassador to Russia Martins Riekstins said on Monday.
"The work of the consulate in Pskov and the consulate general in St. Petersburg has been stopped," he wrote on his Twitter account, adding that consular services will be available at the Latvian embassy in Moscow.
The Russian foreign ministry said on April 21 that Russia was recalling its consent for the operation of Latvia’s, Estonia’s, and Lithuania’s consulates general in St. Petersburg and missions in Pskov. This decision was made on the principle of reciprocity and in view of these countries’ military assistance to the Kiev regime, the ministry explained.
