‘Provocation’: SVR on remarks by MI6 head on murders of civilians by Russian troops

On April 3, the Russian Defense Ministry refuted the Kiev regime’s accusations of an alleged massacre of civilians in Bucha

MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. The remarks by chief of Britain’s foreign intelligence MI6 Richard Moore on Russia’s alleged involvement in the murders of civilians in Ukraine are a provocation, a commentary by head of the press office of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Ivanov made public on Friday said.

The head of the press service highlighted Moore’s posts on Twitter in which he insisted that London possessed information that "Putin’s invasion plans included summary executions by his military and intelligence services."

He also noted commentaries on Moore’s page where users were asking questions why Moore was silent if he possessed such information. "This is how, Mr. Moore, your subscribers worldwide rate your actions. Or, maybe, you were silent because not only were you aware but also participated in developing this cynical act of provocation in order to accuse Russian peacekeepers of such a grave sin," the intelligence official noted.

On April 3, the Russian Defense Ministry refuted the Kiev regime’s accusations of an alleged massacre of civilians in Bucha. The military agency said that the Russian Armed Forces had left Bucha on March 30, while "the evidence of crimes" emerged only four days later, after Ukrainian Security Service officers had entered the town.

The ministry stressed that on March 31, the town’s Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk confirmed in a video address that there were no Russian troops in Bucha. However, he did not say a word about the civilians shot dead in the street with their hands tied behind their backs. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov castigated the episode in Bucha as a "fake attack."
