CSTO countries against hosting NATO's facilities removed from Afghanistan

The United States on August 30 completed the evacuation of civilians from Kabul and of its military mission in the country

DUSHANBE, September 15. /TASS/. The CSTO member-countries are against the deployment in their territory of US and NATO facilities removed from Afghanistan or hosting Afghan citizens, the CSTO foreign ministers said in a joint statement on the situation in Afghanistan on Wednesday.

"The CSTO member-countries are against the deployment in their territory of military infrastructures of the United States and other NATO countries removed from Afghanistan, as well as Afghan citizens who cooperated with foreign military missions, except for the cases that require urgent decisions for humanitarian purposes," the statement runs.

The United States on August 30 completed the evacuation of civilians from Kabul and of its military mission in Afghanistan. When the evacuation and the removal of troops was over, the Taliban movement (outlawed in Russia) launched an offensive and by September 6 declared it had established full control of the territory of Afghanistan. By September 8, the Taliban formed a transitional government. All seats on the new Cabinet of Ministers went to the movement's members.
