G20 summit to be held in Rome on October 30-31, 2021

The Italian presidency’s slogan is ‘People, Planet, Prosperity.’

ROME, December 2. /TASS/. The next year’s summit of the Group of Twenty (G20) will be held in the Italian capital Rome on October 30-31, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said as his country assumed the group’s rotating presidency on December 1.

"The leaders’ final summit will be held on October 30031, here, in Rome," he said in a Twitter post.

In a brief statement, Conte outlined the priorities of his country’s presidency in 2021, including sustainable development, environmental protection and ways to counter new challenges.

According to the schedule of G20 ministerial meeting, released by the government’s administration, the following major events will be held under Italy’s presidency next year: G20 ministers of culture and tourism will convene on May 3-4 in Rome, foreign ministers - on June 28-30 in Matera, economic ministers - on July 9-10 in Venice, ministers of environment and energy - on July 22-23 in Naples, health ministers - on September 5-6 in Rome, agriculture ministers - on September 19-20 in Florence.

The Italian government hopes it would have a chance to organize all those events with personal attendance.

Italy assumed the rotating G20 presidency from Saudi Arabia on December 1.
