MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. Andrey Vatutin, the president of the CSKA Moscow basketball club, told TASS on Tuesday he felt well after hospital treatment following the beating he received in an assault the previous night.

"It could have been worse and thank you for inquiring," Vatutin told a TASS correspondent being asked about his state of health.

The 42-year-old president of the titled Russian basketball club was assaulted by unknown suspects at approximately 9:00 p.m. Moscow time (18:00 GMT) on the Alabyana Street, in the northwest of the Russian capital.

Policemen look for suspects and are trying to establish the motive for the assault on the sports official.

A source close to Vatutin told TASS that a suspected robbery was not behind the assault as "nothing had been stolen from him [Vatutin].".
