Putin enjoys high level of trust among Russians, latest poll reveals

A total of 51% of those polled said they approved of the Russian government’s handling of the country

MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. The level of trust in President Vladimir Putin among the Russian public stands at 80%, while 81% of respondents approved of his job performance, according to a survey conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM).

The poll, conducted between December 6-8, surveyed 1,500 respondents. "When asked directly if they trusted Putin, 80% of participants responded affirmatively (a 2% decrease). The majority also endorsed the president’s job performance (a 1% fall to 81%)," the service said.

A total of 51% of those polled said they approved of the Russian government’s handling of the country (a 3% decrease), while 56% approved of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s performance (a 2% decrease).

Support for the ruling United Russia party stood at 46% (a 1% increase). Support for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) decreased by 1% to 8%, while the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) saw a 3% fall to 7%. The A Just Russia-For Truth party’s support remained at 3%, while support for the New People party rose by 1% to 4%.
