World acknowledges Russia’s public sector digitalization success despite West’s bias — PM

ALMATY, February 3. /TASS/. Russia’s efforts on developing digital technologies in the public sector are acknowledged by international experts despite the West’s biased attitude, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a plenary session of the Digital Almaty forum on Friday.

Over 100 mln Russian citizens have personal accounts on the government service portal Gosuslugi, he noted. "Over the past five years, the number of confirmed accounts has increased almost 1.5-fold, while the average number of services provided per month surged around 3.5 times higher," Mishustin said, adding that the portal’s daily audience nearly quadrupled.

"Our efforts are acknowledged by international experts. Despite the West’s biased attitude, the World Bank has rated Russia among the top ten countries with the highest level of using information technologies in the public sector," he said. The study looked at roughly 200 countries, taking indicators into account that reflect the degree of digital technologies in the sector of public services, tax and budget areas, and education and healthcare, the premier noted.
