More than 95% of Hainan residents vaccinated against COVID

The province vaccinated 9.57 million people

HAIKOU /China/, December 24. /TASS/. The government of South China's Hainan province has vaccinated the vast majority of the population against COVID-10. More than 95% of residents have been vaccinated, which is the highest rate in China, the regional administration's press office said.

"Hainan has vaccinated 9.57 million people, which is more than 95 percent of the population," the statement said. It specifies that the southernmost Chinese province used 21.83 million doses of vaccines to create collective immunity.

In addition, a total of 3.11 million citizens received booster shots, local authorities said.

Hainan is considered one of the best regions in China in terms of the epidemic situation. During the whole time, 190 cases of coronavirus infection were detected on the island, 19 of them were imported. There have been no infected on the territory of the province for many months.
