Moon to pass through northern part of penumbra during eclipse on Monday

The phenomenon will not be seen in Moscow and in the greater part of Russia

MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. The Moon will pass through the northern part of penumbra of the Earth during the penumbral eclipse on Monday, March 25, the press service of the Moscow Planetarium told TASS.

The lunar disk will remain fully illuminated during that time but its brightness will go down a bit. The effect will be visible only for people with the keen sight or owners of professional photo equipment.

"The Moon will pass through the northern part of penumbra of the Earth on Monday, March 25, from 7:53 a.m. to 12:32 p.m. Moscow time [4:53 a.m. - 9:32 a.m. UTC]. The penumbral eclipse of the Moon will take place," the press service said. The phenomenon will not be seen in Moscow and in the greater part of Russia.

The Moon eclipse will last for more than 4.5 hours. The satellite of the Earth will be in the Virgo constellation at that time.
