Russia to continue developing fine chemical industry — Putin

Certain amounts of funds are provided for in the budget to develop the fine chemical segment, the Russian leader specified

SIRIUS /federal territory/, November 29. /TASS/. Russia will continue investing in development of the fine chemical industry, President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with participants in the Congress of Young Scientists.

"The market is small but the cost of a product turns out to be high. There are countries - leaders that produce [fine chemicals], capture the global market and sell in international markets," Putin said. "This is of critical importance for us. Where possible, we will cooperate with fair partners and where required, we will definitely act on our own and develop," he noted.

Certain amounts of funds are provided for in the budget to develop the fine chemical segment, the President said. "All that will be implemented because it has the economic sense and is of high interest from the standpoint of supporting security and technological sovereignty," Putin added.
