Russia to carry out 27 new experiments aboard orbital outpost in next three years

MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. Russia’s State Space Corporation Roscosmos intends to carry out 27 new scientific experiments aboard the International Space Station (ISS) in the next three years, Roscosmos Executive Director for Long-Term Programs and Science Alexander Bloshenko said on Monday.

"Next year, we expect another 14 new researches. One of them, Lactoferrin, is the research with the participation of Belarusian cosmonauts. In the period of 2025-2026, we expect another 13 new purpose-oriented researches, for which the cycle of creating complex hi-tech scientific equipment is nearing completion," the Roscosmos official said at the international conference: "Science on the ISS."

As Bloshenko’s presentation suggests, the experiment Lactoferrin is intended to obtain experimental data on the influence of spaceflight factors on the characteristics of a biosimilar of lactoferrin-a component of the human immune system.

The Russian Nauka (Science) research module launched in 2021 opened up new opportunities for researches in outer space, the Roscosmos official said, calling on scientists to propose their experiments.

The 3rd international conference: "Science on the ISS" is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the operation of the International Space Station and is running on the premises of the Space Research Institute within the Russian Academy of Sciences on November 20-23.
