Situation calm on ISS after Progress MS-21 depressurization — TASS special correspondent

According to the cosmonaut, Russian crewmembers have opened the hatches of the resupply vehicle, which arrived at the ISS on Saturday, and started unloading it

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION, February 11. /TASS/. The situation on board the International Space Station (ISS) is calm after the depressurization of Progress MS-21 cargo spacecraft, and the crew continues routine work, Roscosmos Cosmonaut Dmitry Petelin, a special correspondent of TASS news agency, reported on Saturday.

According to the cosmonaut, Russian crewmembers have opened the hatches of the resupply vehicle, which arrived at the ISS on Saturday, and started unloading it.

"The hatches have already been opened, and fresh fruit aromas have immediately filled the segments, which is reminiscent of the scents of New Year presents from childhood," he added.

The Progress MS-22 resupply vehicle automatically docked to the space station earlier on Saturday.

Roscosmos earlier reported a pressure drop in the Progress MS-21 freighter, which was expected to be deorbited on February 18. By the time of reporting, the space freighter has been isolated from the International Space Station (ISS), and the causes of the incident are being looked into. However, it had no effect on either the docking of the Progress MS-22 cargo spacecraft to the ISS or the further program of the ISS flight.

On November 17, 2021, TASS and Roscosmos signed a memorandum of cooperation, according to which the agency’s office was opened on the ISS. Cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin became the first special correspondent for TASS. His flight lasted 12 days. Oleg Artemyev took over as the agency’s second special correspondent. The current contributor to the TASS news feed from the orbital outpost is Dmitry Petelin.
