Russian military satellite launched from Plesetsk spaceport delivered into orbit

It is reported that the satellite’s onboard systems are operating normally

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. The Kosmos-2554 military satellite launched from the Plesetsk spaceport on April 7 was delivered into orbit at the designated time, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.

"The Kosmos-2554 satellite launched by a combat team of the Aerospace Forces’ Space Troops was delivered into the target orbit at the designated time and placed under the control of ground-based facilities of the Titov Main Testing Space Center of the Aerospace Forces’ Space Troops that will control it in the process of its orbital flight," the ministry said.

Sustainable telemetry communications have been established and are being maintained with the satellite, it added.

"The satellite’s onboard systems are operating normally," it said.

The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with the military satellite blasted off at 14:20 Moscow time on Thursday from launch pad No. 3 of site No. 43 of the Russian Defense Ministry’s State Testing Cosmodrome (the Plesetsk spaceport in the Arkhangelsk Region). The carrier rocket with the military satellite was launched by a combat team of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ Space Troops.
