The border guards of Russia’s Far Eastern Sakhalin region have detained a Panamanian vessel for crab poaching in Russia’s territorial waters, the Sakhalin border guard department’s press service reported on Friday. The ship’s captain failed to produce any documents confirming the legality of catches.

"The Panama flagged Saki Maru intruder vessel was spotted in the La Perouse Strait. A border guard cruiser started to pursue the poachers who were trying to escape towards the Sea of Japan," the press service said.
