Motor traffic resumed on Crimea bridge — head

According to Sergey Aksyonov, traffic is now opened for cars and buses following a full inspection procedure

SIMFEROPOL, October 8. /TASS/. Traffic of cars and buses has been relaunched on the Crimean bridge, Sergey Aksyonov, Crimea’s head, wrote on his Telegram channel on Saturday.

"Motor traffic has restarted on the Crimean bridge. Traffic is now opened for cars and buses following a full inspection procedure," he wrote.

Earlier, Aksyonov promised that it was planned to reopen rail traffic on the bridge.

On Saturday morning, a truck exploded on the Crimea bridge, setting fuel tanks of a passing-by freight train ablaze. Three people were killed and two sections of the bridge’s road part collapsed. The part of the bridge connecting Crimea with the Krasnodar Region was not reportedly damaged. A ferry crossing is being organized. A government commission chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was set up after the accident.
