Russian official points to attempts to use terrorists for geostrategic purposes

"I call for resolutely and strongly condemning all forms of terrorism and the actions of countries that support and condone it," Nikolay Patrushev added

ASTANA, April 3. /TASS/. Terrorist groups are being increasingly used for geostrategic purposes, which highlights the need to resolutely condemn terrorism, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said.

"Terrorist groups are being increasingly used for geostrategic purposes. Terrorists are being provided with advanced weapons, cutting-edge surveillance and reconnaissance equipment, as well as with intelligence," he pointed out, addressing the 19th annual meeting of security council secretaries from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, which is taking place in Kazakhstan’s capital of Astana.

"I call for resolutely and strongly condemning all forms of terrorism and the actions of countries that support and condone it," Patrushev added.
