Ten Vampire rockets destroyed over Belgorod region — Russian Defense Ministry

The building of the region’s largest sporting and cultural facility, Belgorod Arena, has been damaged in a Ukrainian shelling attack

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Russian air defenses destroyed 10 Vampire MLRS projectiles over the borderline region of Belgorod, Russia’s Defense Ministry said.

"At about 8:00 a.m. Moscow time (5:00 a.m. GMT — TASS) on March 21, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack against facilities on Russian soil using the RM-70 Vampire multiple rocket launcher was thwarted. Air defense forces on duty destroyed 10 MLRS rockets in the skies over the Belgorod Region," the ministry said.

The building of the region’s largest sporting and cultural facility, Belgorod Arena, has been damaged presumably in a Ukrainian shelling attack, emergency officials told TASS.

The facade glazing of the building and parts of the facade were scarred, and a shell crater can be seen near the facility, according to a TASS reporter.

Air raid sirens rang out for about 20 minutes in Belgorod earlier this morning.
