Russian lawmaker meets with Charles de Gaulle’s grandson in Russia

MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Chairman Leonid Slutsky has met with Pierre de Gaulle, a grandson of former French President General Charles de Gaulle, the party said in a statement.

Pierre de Gaulle came to Russia for the country’s presidential election in the capacity of an international expert, according to the statement.

"We act these days as the center of gravity of unification, unity of countries for which their values, history, traditions, culture, religion, national language and many other things are the most important factors in deciding how to live and develop further. And countries now, both of the Greater Eurasian continent and Africa and Latin America, are reaching out to Russia, to ideas that are against a unipolar world and for the creation of a peaceful, equitable, safe world architecture of the 21st century," Slutsky, who is also chairman of the State Duma International Affairs Committee, was quoted as saying by the statement.
