HAVANA, February 28. /TASS/. The Nicaraguan government has expressed its support for Russia in the fight for world peace, Nicaraguan Presidential Special Representative for Russian Affairs Laureano Ortega Murillo said at a meeting on security issues with representatives of Russia, Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia.
"We want to confirm our solidarity and our support for Russia in this battle that it is waging for world peace. In this battle against neo-Nazism and against the wave of hatred unleashed by global imperialism," the 19digital news portal quoted Ortega Murillo as saying.
He also expressed gratitude to Russia for its willingness to strengthen security cooperation with the government and people of Nicaragua. "We believe in Russia's victory, which will be the victory of humanity," the special presidential representative added.
On February 27, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev arrived in Managua to hold security consultations with representatives of Bolivia, Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua. During Patrushev’s meeting with Ortega Murillo, the parties focused on the issue of expanding the activities of the Russian Interior Ministry’s training center in Managua, as well as deepening cooperation between law enforcement agencies and intelligence services. In addition, topics pertaining to bilateral economic cooperation in the context of sanctions pressure were raised.
