Ukrainian commander confirms difficult situation on eastern front

Alexander Syrsky pointed out that due to the intensive actions of the Russian armed forces, the Ukrainian army is experiencing difficulties in the Artyomovsk, Krasny Liman, Kupyansk and northern areas

MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces are in a difficult situation in four areas of the line of engagement in the conflict zone, Commander of the Ukrainian military’s ground forces Alexander Syrsky said.

"The situation in the east remains difficult," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The military official pointed out that due to the intensive actions of the Russian armed forces, the Ukrainian army is experiencing difficulties in the Artyomovsk, Krasny Liman, Kupyansk and northern areas.

At the beginning of last week, Syrsky also stated that the situation in the east was difficult for the Ukrainian forces. On December 25, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announced the complete liberation of Maryinka in the Donetsk People’s Republic at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin. The next day, Ukrainian top military commander Valery Zaluzhny confirmed the Ukrainian army's withdrawal from the town.
