Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to be held in St. Petersburg on December 25, where the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states will adopt a number of important decisions and documents, the Kremlin press service reported.
"On December 25, 2023, a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held in St. Petersburg, which will be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin," the press service said.
"The sides plan to adopt a number of important decisions and documents, including the declaration on the further development of the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030 and for the period up to 2045. In addition, on December 25-26 in St. Petersburg will be held the traditional informal meeting of heads of state - members of the Commonwealth of Independent States," the press service pointed out.
In addition, the meeting will summarize the results of the work of the EAEU over the year of the Russian presidency, consider topical issues of the Union's activities, as well as "discuss promising areas of deepening integration processes."
The fact that the EAEU and CIS summits will be held in St. Petersburg on December 25-26 was reported earlier by Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov. According to him, an agreement on a free trade zone between the EAEU countries and Iran will be signed during the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
